Introduction Edit

This page details the way in which pages should be constructed.

Page Types Edit

The following page types have specific styles that should be implemented upon creation of new pages of those types.

  • Character
  • Costume
  • Source
  • Cosplayer
  • Photographer/Videographer
  • Event

Instructions Edit

Character Pages Edit

  • Title pages as follows: Character Name (Source Name)
  • Use the "Infobox character" template.
    • The attached image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should be from an official source.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should be a full-body picture.
      • If this type of image is not available, use an image that shows at least the upper half of the character.
  • All character pages should have a table detailing the costumes worn by that character in official sources.
    • The table template can be found here.
    • Images of costumes should be from official sources.
    • Images should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, costume names should be official.
      • If no official name is available, the costume name should be as simple and clear as possible, and should reference the costume's origin.
    • Unofficial costumes should be recorded in a separate table.
      • The table template can be found here.
      • Only physical costumes should be recorded in this table. Do not add fanart that has not been interpreted as a completed costume.

Costume Pages Edit

  • Title pages as follows: Character Name: Costume Name
  • Use the "Infobox:Costume" template.
    • The attached image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should be from an official source.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should show the entirety of the costume.
      • If this type of image is not available, use an image that shows as much of the costume as possible.
  • All costume pages should have a table detailing the costume's elements as well as a table detailing that costume's appearances in the world.
    • The costume element table template can be found here.
    • Images should be from official sources.
    • Wherever possible, images should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Elements should be notable parts of costumes, including but not limited to:
      • Major clothing items (shirts, pants, dresses, shoes)
      • Important details (accessories such as glasses and hair ornaments)
      • Relevent props (weapons, items, etcetera)

      • Cosplayer name should include a link to that cosplayer's page on this wiki.
      • Photographer name should include a link to that cosplayer's page on this wiki.
        • Additionally, the image's file name should be formatted as follows: cosplayername_costume_photographername
      • The attached image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
      • Whenever possible, the attached image should be from an official source.
        • Official sources include the cosplayer's website, Facebook page, or other social media.

Source Pages Edit

  • Title pages as follows: Title of Source (source type)
    • Source types are as follows. More will be added as required.
      • Anime
        • Throughout this wiki, "anime" refers to animated television series produced in Japan.
      • Television Series
        • This includes animated television series, but excludes anime.
      • Film
      • Book
      • Comics
        • This generally refers to Western comics.
      • Manga/manhua/manhwa
        • These refer to Japanese, Chinese, and Korean comics, respectively.
      • Video Game/Video Game Series
  • Use the "Infobox:Source" template.
    • The attached image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should be from an official source, and should represent the source as a whole.
      • Recommended images include official promotional materials and the covers of books/DVDs/etcetera.
    • Title variations should include well-known alternative titles of a work, such as the Japanese title of an anime or a stylized version of the title.
    • Media type should match the source type.
    • Release date refers to the date the source was initially published, ie. October 6, 2016 – December 22, 2016.
      • If the source is still being produced, use "ongoing" instead of an end date.
    • Creator(s) refers to the original creators of the source, ie. the mangaka team, the author, the director, etc.
      • The creator's role should be noted in brackets next to their name, ie. Mitsuro Kubo (writer).
    • Publisher(s) refers to the publishing house, studio, or other company that produced the source, ie. Studio Ghibli, Scholastic, etc.
  • All source pages should have a table detailing the characters that appear in said source.
    • The table template can be found here.
    • All recurring characters should be listed.
      • In this context, "recurring" means that the character appears in more than one episode, chapter, or the like.
    • Characters that appear in passing should be listed if:
      • a) They contribute in a major way to the plot; or
      • b) They have been cosplayed before, and a high-quality image of that cosplay is available.
    • Images should be taken from the source material or should be an official image relating to the source material.
      • For example, the Fullmetal Alchemist (anime) page should not use images from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga, and vice versa.
    • Character names should include links to the appropriate Character Page.
    • Characters should be listed as follows:
      • Major characters first (ie. characters that appear in every episode/chapter/etc, or are integral to the plot)
      • Recurring characters second, with those appearing more often or who are more integral to the plot appearing above those who appear less or are less integral to the plot.
      • Characters that appear in passing third.

Cosplayer Pages Edit

  • Title pages as follows: Cosplayer Name (cosplayer)
  • Use the "Cosplayer" infobox template.
    • The attached image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should be from an official source.
      • Official sources include the cosplayer's website, Facebook page, or other social media.
    • The caption should note who the photographer was for that particular image. Additionally, the image's file name should be formatted as follows: cosplayername_costume_photographername
  • All cosplayer pages should have a table detailing that cosplayer's costume history.
    • The table template can be found here.
    • Images should be from official sources (see above for details).
    • Wherever possible, images should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should show the entirety of the costume.
      • If this type of image is not available, use an image that shows as much of the costume as possible.

Photographer Pages Edit

  • Title pages as follows: Photographer Name (photographer)
    • In the case that someone is both a photographer and videographer, title pages as follows: Person's Name (photographer/videographer)
  • Use the "Infobox:photographer" template.
    • The attached image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should be from an official source.
      • Official sources include the cosplayer's website, Facebook page, or other social media.
  • All photographer pages should have a table listing photos that best represent that photographer's work.
    • The table template can be found here.
    • Images should be from official sources (see above for details).
    • Wherever possible, images should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Cosplayers present in photos should be listed, and their pages linked, in the Cosplayer(s) column.

Videographer Pages Edit

  • Title pages as follows: Videographer Name (videographer)
    • In the case that someone is both a photographer and videographer, title pages as follows: Person's Name (photographer/videographer)
  • Use the "Videographer" infobox template.
    • The attached image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, the attached image should be from an official source.
      • Official sources include the cosplayer's website, Facebook page, or other social media.
  • All videographer pages should have a table listing videos that best represent that videographer's work.
    • The table template can be found here.
    • Videos should be linked to official sources (see above for details).

Event Pages Edit

  • Title pages as follows: Official Name of Event (event)
  • Use the "Infobox:Event" template.
    • The attached image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Images should be from official sources.
      • Official sources include the event's website and social media pages.
    • Location should indicate the event's current location using the following format: City Name, State/Province/Territory, Country.
      • Location information should be updated if the event changes location.
    • Initial Date should indicate the first time the event took place.
      • This should include the year and, if possible, the date.
    • Affiliations refers to the companies, organizations, etc. that organize the event.
  • All event pages should have a table detailing the history of the event.
    • The table template can be found here.
    • Event Name should reflect the name of the event during that particular time.
    • Date should be listed as follows: Month Day-Day, Year (eg. May 15-18, 2017).
      • Dates should be listed in reverse chronological order, so the most recent event appears first.
    • Location refers to the location of the event during that particular time.
      • Location should include the event's main venue, city, and state/territory/province.
        • eg. Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto, Ontario.

Individual Event Pages Edit

  • Title pages as follows: Official Name of Event Year
    • eg. Katsucon 2017
  • Use the "Infobox: Individual Event" template.
    • title1 should match the name of the page.
    • Name refers to the official name of the convention.
    • Image should be an official image of the convention, or the convention's logo if no appropriate image can be found.
    • Location should include the event's main venue, city, and state/territory/province.
    • Date should be listed as follows: Month Day-Day, Year (eg. May 15-18, 2017).
  • All individual event pages should have tables detailing the costumes worn during that event.
    • The table template can be found here.
    • Cosplayer names should include a link to that cosplayer's page on this wiki.
    • Costume name should include a link to that character's page on this wiki.
    • Costume source should include a link to that source's page on this wiki.
    • Costume image should be high-quality, with no pixelation.
    • Whenever possible, the costume image should be taken from the cosplayer or photographer's website or social media, and should be the best example of that costume.
    • Whenever possible, the costume image should be a full-body picture.
    • Photographer names should include a link to that photographer's page on this wiki.
  • All individual event pages should have a table detailing the videos taken of that event.
    • The table template can be found here.
      • The title of the table should be formatted as noted in the template, for example: Katsucon 2017 Videography.
    • The list should be arranged alphabetically by Videographer name.
    • Videographer names should include a link to that videographer's page on this wiki.
    • Video Title should match the title created by the Videographer.
    • Video Title should include a link to the video.
    • Video Type should be one of the following. If these do not apply, leave the field blank.
      • Vlog
      • CMV (cosplay music video)
      • Media Coverage
    • The Notes column can be used to link to individual wiki pages with lists of the costumes and cosplayers featured in the video.
